Planning a visit to Southern California? Maybe taking in the wonder of the most magical place on earth while spending a small fortune? Or perhaps, like me, you've lived here for many years and haven't really explored beyond the usual So Cal beaches and amusement parks?
Here you'll find some of our favorite places across SoCal that don't burn through your savings in a day. Some are small and quirky and some are world class. Nearly all are family friendly (with a wine tasting thrown in here or there) and provide great homeschool experiences.
As I add pictures and Day Tripping blog entries I will update with current links, maps, and other pertinent info for those that would care to explore a bit too. One of the best things about So Cal? You can drastically change your surroundings in about two hours or less.
The Sam Maloof House in Rancho Cucamonga is a museum featuring the craftsmanship of a woodworking master as well as many local artists.
The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana has an impressive collection of Ancient Chinese and Pacific Islander artifacts and is currently hosting the fantastic Mummies of the World exhibit through September.
